definitely NOT me!
i value my sleep way too much for any crazy sale:-)
anyone else out there like me?
or am I the crazy one for not braving the crowds?
NAAAAAAAHHHH!
i got good rest last night:-)
today marks the day we start to bring out our
Christmas decorations.
and start on some of our fun traditions....
like baking bajillions of cookies and
painting ornaments.
now that is my idea of crazy.

here is one of our Thanksgiving day desserts
because it kind of falls in the crazy category;-)
(of course we had pumpkin pie...because that is the bomb!)
but we also created the...
Apple Crisp Cheesecake!!!!

This cheesecake is a mix of craziness including:
cheesecake
apple pie filling
crumb topping
and some broiler action.
Ingredients:
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/4 c. butter, melted
3-8 oz. cream cheese packages, softened
3 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cans apple pie filling
1 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 c. butter, softened
Preheat oven to 350*. Mix crumbs and butter together. Press into the bottom of a 10 inch spring form pan. Beat cream cheese until creamy, slowly add sugar. Then add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Beat in sour cream and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan. Carefully spoon the apple pie filling on top of the cheesecake layer. Mix flour, brown sugar, spices, and softened butter in a bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle all of the topping onto the pie filling. Bake for 1 hour. After 1 hour, turn your broiler on high for 2 minutes to firm up the topping. *warning* this will make the topping crunchy and hard to cut through, so you can skip this step if you want!! Turn oven off and let cheesecake rest in oven for an hour. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack for another hour. Refrigerate.

25 Your Comments Make My Day!:
I got my crazy on! Toys R Us opened at 10. I was in line at 8 and was about 150 back. I finally went to bed this morning around 8:30.
Your kind of crazy sounds soooo much more appealing though! It looks absolutely to die for!
There's no way I would get involved in that crazy shopping. I've been sucked in by the ads once or twice, and the crowds and waking up early just aren't worth it! I'm with you! I value my sleep.
That cheesecake looks really good. I went outside the traditional for dessert, too. Sure, we had pumpkin pie, but I also had to make a chocolate cheesecake. It was really good. Maybe I'll go have some for breakfast. Yes, it's nearly 10 and I haven't had breakfast. That's something you can do when you don't get involved in crazy shopping.
HAHA CRAZIES UNITE! Our Annual meet up this morning at Menards and Walmart and the Mall was the bomb-diddly! and I got some CRAAAZZZY DEALS!
I love Crazy traditions! lol
How in the world do you keep one upping your desserts?! This looks crazy awesome!
I have been out shopping with all the other crazies before, but this year I have no interest in it. Plus there isn't much I really want. A new lens would be nice, but I'll get that online.
Great post. I'm thinking this will be my Christmas dessert.
oh my! thanks for sharing the recipe!
(: that looks delicious!
In reference to Black Friday, I only went to one store very early this morning and that store was JoAnn! Loved that there were not many people there at all (except for fabric - those people were going crazy) lol But it was good! I was able to score some good deals!
