Java Twix Bread

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Ingredients (1 large loaf)
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. mashed banana (about 3)
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 2 c. chopped twix bars
- 2 Tbsp. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. instant coffee
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
Instructions
For the BreadBeat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat again. Stir in the baking soda and salt. Slowly add the flour to the mixture while the mixer is running. Do not over beat.
Fold in the bananas, sour cream and twix bars by hand until incorporated. Pour into a 9x5 pan that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Bake at 350* for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Check with a sharp knife or toothpick to see if it is done...if not, bake another 5 minutes. Let cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan, then remove and cool the rest of the way on a wire rack.
For the GlazeDissolve the coffee in the hot water. Stir in the powdered sugar until smooth.
After the bread has cooled all the way, spread coffee glaze on top and let set before cutting slices.

I'm sorry, did you say this was a TWIX BANANA BREAD?! I'm drooling over here! What an smart idea to use up leftover candy bars and rotting bananas. If only I had either--I stink :( But I have a feeling I'll be cooking up some banana bread after my next grocery excursion because you definitely outdid yourself on this one! Yum!!
